1.11.2022 TVET Center Ceremony with Shenzhen Polytechnic

On November 1, 2022, the Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences China-Network and Shenzhen Polytechnic held an online signing ceremony for the Technical and Vocational Training (TVET) Center. Ms. Zheng Qiongfang, Senior Advisor of International Affairs, City Executive Office, City of Helsinki. Mr. Jouni Ahonen, Vice President of Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences on behalf of the Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences China-Network. Mr. Esa Vuorenmaa, Senior Project Specialist of Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences. Ms. Yue Li, Vice President of Shenzhen Polytechnic, and Mr. Kesheng Tang, Member of the Party Committee and Director of the Foreign Affairs Office, attended the meeting.

Ms. Zheng Qiongfang, Senior Advisor of International Affairs, City Executive Office, City of Helsinki, congratulated the official establishment of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Center between Shenzhen Polytechnic and Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences China-Network. She stated that since the two sides have established contacts, the cooperation has progressed rapidly and the cooperation has achieved fruitful results. The establishment of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Center marks a new level of cooperation between the two parties. The City of Helsinki will, as always, support the cooperation between the two sides and expect the two sides to further promote Sino-Finnish vocational education cooperation. Ms. Yue Li, Vice President of Shenzhen Polytechnic, thanked the City of Helsinki for its strong support and trust. She mentioned that Polytechnic has set up 8 overseas vocational and technical education and training centers in 6 countries. The TVET Center jointly established with the Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences China-Network is Shenzhen Polytechnic's 9th overseas Vocational and Technical Education and Training Center. Since the establishment of contact in April this year, the two sides have communicated closely and the cooperation has progressed smoothly. On September 20, the two sides jointly held the "Sino-Finnish Healthy Elderly Care Seminar", inviting Chinese and Finnish experts to discuss top topics in the field of healthy elderly care. The first lesson of the series of Chinese Culture Courses "tailor-made" by Shenzhen Politechnic for teachers and students of the Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences was successfully launched on October 31st. Vice President Ms. Yue Li wishes that the two sides will continue to maintain close communication, strive to build a model for Sino-Finnish vocational education cooperation, and add new connotations to Sino-Finnish friendly cooperation. Mr. Jouni Ahonen, Vice-president of Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences on behalf of the Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences China-Network expressed his heartfelt thanks to the City of Helsinki for its support. He said that there are 20 members of the Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences in China-Network, accounting for 90% of all Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences. The members of China-Network are very much looking forward to carrying out more cooperation with Shenzhen Polytechnic. The platform of the Vocational Education Training (TVET) Center will have more opportunities for cooperation and exchanges in the future. Subsequently, Vice President Ms. Yue Li and Vice President Mr. Jouni Ahonen signed the TVET center agreement under the witness of representatives of both parties.
