In April 2023 the China-Network organized 6 Finnish UASes a trip to China

From 15th to 27th April 2023, the China-Network of Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences organized 6 Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) members a trip to China.


The 6 Finnish universities of applied sciences are:

  • Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences

  • Humak University of Applied Sciences

  • jamk University of Applied Sciences

  • Xamk University of Applied Sciences

  • SeAMK University of Applied Sciences

  • Tampere University of Applied Sciences

During the visit to China, UAS members of China-Network participated in the Conference on International Exchange of Professionals held in Shenzhen.

On April 18, 2023, the China-Network together with the China Education Association for International Exchange established the China-Finland Elderly Care Academic Network in Beijing and held a signing ceremony regarding the smart elderly care capacity building project.


Finland's Tampere University of Applied Sciences and Peking Union Medical College, as the leading institutions in the network, also established a cooperative relationship under this opportunity. In July 2023, the two institutions organized and carried out a project for 28 students from the School of Nursing of Peking Union Medical College to go to Finland to participate in the Finnish Health Nursing Summer Course.

On April 20, the China-Network and accompanying Finnish UASes held a round table discussion with Chinese higher education institutions at the National Academy of Education Administration on Sino-Finnish higher education cooperation.

The China-Network and accompanying UASes also met other higher educational institutions and national organizations in China. For instance, the Chinese testing, inspection and certification education association, the Embassy of Finland´s Education Counselor Olli Suominen in Beijing, Vice Deputy Counselor of the Finnish Consulate Harri Sallinen in Shanghai.


The trip to China was successful and fruitful. This visit laid a solid foundation for the development of higher education cooperation between China and Finland and established a bridge for deeper cooperation between the two countries in the future.
